Dunbar Builders, Inc. is an award-winning custom home building company serving the Greater Columbia, SC area since 1994. We are a family-oriented company as seen by our team. The Dunbar team builds in many fine communities in the Columbia area including the nationally-recognized Saluda River Club and on client-owned lots. Home prices start in the $500s.

In 2011, Dunbar Builders was selected for membership in the exclusive Southern Living Custom Builder Program. In 2013, Dunbar Builders was named the People's Choice Award Winner for Best Home and Best Interior in the Parade of Homes presented by the Home Builders Association of Greater Columbia.

Pat Dunbar

A graduate of Indiana University School of Business, Pat Dunbar founded Dunbar Builders, Inc. after serving in the Air Force and working for several years in banking and finance. Pat presently serves on the Lexington County Planning Commission, and previously spent 16 years on the Richland County Planning Commission. Pat is an active member of the Home Builders Association of Greater Columbia, serving as the association's president in 2002. He has also been involved with Rotary International, the United Way of the Midlands, the American Cancer Society and the March of Dimes. Pat has been married for over 40 years and has two sons and four grandchildren.

Patrick Dunbar

Patrick Dunbar joined Dunbar Builders in 1999 after graduating from the College of Charleston in Charleston, SC with a B.S. in Business. Patrick is actively involved in the Home Builders Association of Greater Columbia, and has served on the association's board of directors. He is a member of the Green Building Council of Greater Columbia and is working toward his designation as a Certified Master Builder in South Carolina. Patrick is married and has two beautiful daughters. He enjoys the outdoors and is active in his church.

Matthew Holmes

Matthew Holmes is a recent addition to the Dunbar Builders team. In addition to his degree in Building Construction Technology from Midlands Technical College, Matthew has experience in trim carpentry, electrical circuitry, and robotics. A long-time resident of Chapin, Matthew graduated in 2018 from Spring Hill High School. His interests include camping, hunting, fishing, and all that the great outdoors has to offer.
